Replacing a bath and bath lift with a thoughtfully planned walk-in shower, offering comfortable seated showering while working with the existing
bathroom layout.
The customer’s existing bath had been fitted with a bath lift to help them get in and out. Over time, however, this was no longer providing the access or support they needed. They wanted an easier way to enter the showering area, together with a comfortable seat and carefully positioned support for use while showering.
After discussing how the customer would use the shower and looking carefully at the available space, we suggested replacing the bath and bath lift
with a more accessible walk-in shower.
The new shower included an anti-slip tray, a comfortable folding seat and grab rails positioned around the customer’s individual needs.
We also selected a Conniston fixed glass screen that left sufficient space between the screen and the existing basin for the customer to enter and
leave the shower comfortably. A pivoting deflector panel was added to help direct water back into the showering area. When it is not needed, this
panel folds back neatly against the fixed screen, leaving the full width of the entrance available.
Each element was carefully chosen to provide the customer with greater comfort, support and reassurance while working with the existing bathroom
layout.
The completed walk-in shower is much easier for the customer to access and provides a comfortable place to sit whenever needed.
The carefully considered screen arrangement helps contain the water while retaining a generous opening into the shower. By incorporating the
practical features into the existing layout, we created a showering area that feels attractive and welcoming rather than clinical.
