OUR PROJECTS

Renewing a Walk-In Shower for Greater Comfort and Support

Creating a Shower That Feels Easier to Use

Acklam

An existing showering area carefully refitted with a folding seat, grab rails and practical features to help the customer continue showering
independently.

What the Customer Needed

Although the customer already had a walk-in shower, it had become worn and no longer provided the level of support they needed to continue
showering comfortably and independently.

The existing showering area could not simply be adapted to accommodate the additional support required. A replacement was therefore needed that
would work within the same space, while being better suited to the customer’s changing needs.

What We Suggested

We spent time with the customer discussing how they used their shower and where additional support would be most helpful.

After removing the existing installation, we carried out the necessary preparation work to create a showering area that could safely accommodate the new features. Working within the existing space, we installed an anti-slip tray, a comfortable folding shower seat, grab rails positioned around the
customer and a thermostatic electric shower.

For the shower screen, we selected a Conniston fixed glass panel with a pivoting deflector. This helps direct water back into the showering area while
maintaining a generous entrance. When it is not required, the deflector folds neatly against the fixed panel, keeping the opening clear and easy to use.

Together, these carefully considered features provide the comfort and support the customer needs while allowing the shower to sit naturally within the existing bathroom.

The Finished Walk-In Shower

The renewed showering area gives the customer dependable support in the places where it is needed most, together with a comfortable seat for use
while showering.

With easier access and practical features suited to their everyday routine, the customer can continue showering with greater confidence, reassurance
and independence.

The finished result makes thoughtful use of the existing space, creating a shower that is supportive and practical while remaining attractive and in keeping with the rest of the bathroom.
